A wastewater spill reportedly occurred Monday at Water Oak.

The site manager contacted U.S. Water at about  10:30 a.m. that day regarding wastewater overflow occurring on site.  Upon review it was found that the breaker for the surge pumps was tripped, causing the surge tank level to rise and subsequently discharge over the top of the surge tanks. The site manager was able to reset the surge tank pumps and begin to pump down the tank levels.  The discharge was contained adjacent to the treatment plant tanks and down the hill from the plant.  It is estimated that approximately 100 gallons of discharge reached outside of a fenced area. The total estimated amount of discharge from the event was 40,000-50,000 gallons.
