Sumter County residents were in an uproar when a water bottling company was granted permission to pump nearly 500,000 gallons of water each day from a pair of springs in Sumter County.
It was the No. 6 story in The Villages in 2016.
An overflow crowd in June at Colony Cottage Recreation Center pleaded with Sumter County commissioners to do something to stop the removal of precious water from the county. You can read more about their efforts HERE
