A 44-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested after an alleged attack Sunday afternoon on a 71-year-old Wal-Mart greeter.
Witnesses claim that Essene Feliciano was leaving the Wal-Mart store in Leesburg when the greeter stopped Feliciano asking to see a receipt to verify the purchase of merchandise, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The greeter was holding onto Feliciano’s shopping cart when Feliciano used the cart to knock down the greeter. The greeter hit his head on the concrete and was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.
Feliciano was arrested on a charge of battery on a person over the age of 65. He had previously been convicted on a charge of battery in 1992.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
