A woman who claimed she’d only had one martini was arrested early Saturday morning after she was spotted driving in the wrong direction.
Amber Ruth Barkwell, 23, of Ocala, was pulled over at 2:41 a.m. after she had been spotted driving in the wrong direction on U.S. 301, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She said she had gotten off work at about 9 p.m. and then went and drank one martini.
She failed field sobriety exercises and later provided two breath samples that both registered .178 blood alcohol content, according to the arrest report.
She was booked on a charge of driving under the influence at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $1,000.
