Margie Lee Whiddon, 77, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Friday, March 17, 2017. Born in Shelbyville, KY she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Mae (Shay) Lewis.
Margie received her bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University, her Master’s from University of New Mexico and her Education Specialist degree from Nova Southwestern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

She was a teacher in the Miami-Dade school system for 45 years, 35 years in the Miami-Dade school system. Since living in The Villages she taught at the College of Lifelong Learning.

Margie and her husband John R. “Bob” Whiddon were charter and founding members of the First Baptist Church at The Villages. She enjoyed doing world mission work in China, Russia, Honduras and Iran and she became a world traveler visiting six continents. Margie enjoyed digital scrapbooking and photography.

She leaves her husband of 40 years, John R. “Bob” Whiddon; daughters; Melanie Kaye Cross, Lake Mary, FL; Tanya Dawn Cleary (Michael) of Lutz, FL; grandchildren, Michaela, James, Aidan and Christopher and a brother, Glenn Lewis (Christy) of Crestwood, KY.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church at The Villages 7570 SE Hwy. 42, Summerfield, FL on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11 a.m.. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation at the church starting at 10 a.m.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church at The Villages.
