A 29-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested after he was spotted driving a pickup bearing a license plate which belonged on his parents’ purple Buick.
Christopher Lynn Sappington was driving a blue Dodge pickup just before midnight Tuesday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 when a Lady Lake police officer noticed the tag on his truck had been assigned to a Buick.
During a traffic stop, the police officer discovered that Sappington had been arrested six times for driving while license suspended and had multiple suspensions.
When asked about the license plate, he admitted he had taken it off their car and said his parents were not yet aware of what he had done.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of driving while license suspended.
