District staff will review a maintenance contract that would cover a traffic light on Colony Boulevard after a member of the Project Wide Advisory Committee raised concerns about the document.
PWAC member Don Wiley, a supervisor from Community Development District 10, had studied the contract and brought up issues of concern at Monday morning’s meeting.
The contract with Traffic Engineering and Management LLC d/b/a Control Specialists would call for $86 per man hour for regular/emergency services, $118 per man hour for overtime/emergency services, $94 per man hour for monthly inspections, and $116 per man hour for any new equipment work order. He said the company would be free to use the hourly rate to its benefit.
The contract also calls for a $10,000 bond from the company, which Wiley said was too low.
“We spent a quarter of a million dollars getting this (light) installed,” Wiley said.
He also was concerned that the response time for repairs to the light could take up to five days, according to the contract.
“There is no time requirement they be on site within two hours, within five hours,” Wiley said.
The contract will undergo further scrutiny and come back to the board at a future meeting.
