Wawa will use the Lady Lake Log Cabin later this month to promote its planned location at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466.

Wawa, the gas station and convenience store giant, won permission from the Lady Lake Commission to serve its products and coffee from 5 to 8 p.m. May 17 at the town’s historic Log Cabin.

One commissioner was vehemently opposed to allowing Wawa to use the Log Cabin.

“I am totally against it. Are we letting them use this to promote their business?” asked Commissioner Paul Hannan at Monday’s Commission meeting.

He has already said he is opposed to Wawa coming to Lady Lake. Commissioner Tony Holden has said he’s not opposed to Wawa, however he wants Wawa to find another location other than the one under consideration.
