Massive sinkhole swallows car at Checkers restaurant in Ocala

A massive sinkhole swallowed a car Saturday at Checkers restaurant in Ocala.

Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the restaurant located at 2701 SW College Road after the sinkhole opened up.

The elderly occupants of the car were able to get out of the vehicle before it went down into the sinkhole.

State Road 200 was closed between Southwest 27th Avenue and Southwest 26th Street for several hours. A gas line also ruptured.
