This week’s featured game saw Synergy Wealth tighten it’s hold on first place by defeating Softball’s R Game 17-14.

Jeff Bekasi led Synergy with three hits as the lead off man. Jim Gordon had a single and a double , Craig Dahlquist had a double and a triple to drive in two runs, Dave Pope stroked a triple, a single and a sacrifice fly to account for four runs, Bill Reed had a double, a home run and a sac fly for another four runs. Others with two hits were George Kennedy, Bud Ramsey, Vernon Brooks, and Jeff Stein. Softball’s R Game got three hits including a homer from Charles Clare, who drove in three runs. Sub Mark Isom and Ed Krisha also had three hits, with Krisha driving in four runs. Rocky Spottswood, Jack Meagher, Dan Kincaid, Dennis Bauch, Jack Marx, and sub Paul Isenberg had two hits in the loss.

Softball’s R Game retained sole possession of second place as CarePlus fell to FBC Mortgage 13-4.

FBC lead off man Ron Parson had four hits on the day. Marty Berger had three hits including a homer to drive in four runs. Ed Haith also had three hits with a homer to score three runs. Chuck Alexander and Jim Joseph also smacked three hits for the winners. CarePlus scored a run in the second on a sacrifice fly by Paul Winsor which plated Jim Wiegand. John Reedy drove in another run with a double in the fifth. CarePlus got four straight hits in the top of the seventh to get two more runs.

Gators Brownwood bested Palm Ridge Dental 11-8.

John Leone and Don Brozick led Gators with three hits each. Wayne Grunewald and Pat Perkins had a pair of hits each driving in two runs apiece. Jack Nagle drove in two runs with a single in the fourth inning. Palm Ridge Dental was down 11-2 going into the bottom of the seventh and had two outs after Jim Morton reached first to start the inning. The next seven batters all had hits and Palm Ridge score six runs before Gators managed to get the third out to end the game.
