A 59-year-old Villager was arrested after skipping a court date.
Debra Jean Freeman was booked Thursday morning at the Sumter County Detention Center following her arrest at her home on a warrant charging her with failure to appear.
She had been arrested June 4 after she allegedly threw a cup of Cream Soda on a man at her home on Woodridge Drive.
The man said he had been trying to gather items to leave the residence when Freeman began spitting on him, according to an arrest report. He locked himself in a car in the driveway until Freeman could calm down. He then got out and poured cream soda into a 32-ounce Styrofoam cup. He walked back to his vehicle and Freeman grabbed the cup of soda and threw it at him, the report indicated. She began hitting him and scratched his left shoulder.
She was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
The man had filed for an order of protection in Sumter County Court but was denied.
