Lux, the new Lady Lake Police Department K-9, helped bust a Villages resident allegedly in possession of heroin.
Jessica Loren Hall, 32, had been at the wheel of a four-door Mercury passenger car at about 12:30 p.m. June 23 when a police officer noticed that the vehicle’s tag was expired. The officer made a traffic stop at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Avenida Central.

Hall, who resides at 408 San Marino Drive, presented the police officer with a Mississippi driver’s license and appeared “nervous,” according to an arrest report.
Lux arrived on the scene and alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. Hall admitted she had drugs in her possession. A syringe containing liquid heroin was discovered. A glass pipe was also found.
She was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
