To the Editor:
Trump may be narcissistic, egocentric and insecure, exactly like our last president, but the left (which includes most of the media and about half of the GOP), in Obama’s case, was curiously deafeningly silent. Are some of Trump’s tweets childish and immature? Yes they are. Are some of his tweets personal attacks on others? Yes they are, but I’m not aware of any attacks that hadn’t been provoked. After all, he did say that if he were poked he’d poke back twice as hard. Don’t forget, he brought us the “snake story”.
Is Trump unorthodox? Yes he is and I’m glad. What you see is what you get. I find it refreshing that we finally have a president who has no need for political correctness nor fear of expressing his own views.
Of greater concern than his personality is what he is trying to accomplish for our nation, but he is being blocked at every turn. He has the congressional power structure, in addition to the media, working against him. Trump promised to drain the swamp, but everyone in the swamp is fighting his efforts. They’ll lose their power and their arguable prestige, but once the swamp is drained their replacements can finally do the people’s work and that will be an exciting time. I have hope, albeit a very small amount of hope, (with less real expectation) that those on the extreme left, the deranged and almost psychopathic, will finally tire of their rampage against Trump and decide to ignore his eccentricities and assist him in his efforts to “Make America Great Again.”
