CFL 2017 summer highlights week 10

Tuesday marked the end of the regular season in the Central Florida League.

Softball’s R Game holds on to win the regular season title as they defeated runner up Synergy Wealth 15-2.

SRG got four hits by Bill Nisbet, Gary Nicolay, and Rocky Spottswood. Charles Clare got half the cycle with a triple and a home run to drive in four runs. Adding a pair of hits each were: Ed Krisha, Jack Meagher, and subs Bob Roth and Bill Naasz. Bob Buchanan and Dave Pope each had two hits for Synergy Wealth as SRG pitcher, Ed Krisha, only allowed 9 hits.

Moving into a tie for second place was FBC Mortgage, who defeated CarePlus 23-11.

Marty Berger and Chuck Alexander led FBC with five hits. Also perfect on the day was Tim WIlcox who walked and drove in four runs with four hits. Parson also had four hits and drove in three runs before leaving the game injured in the 7th inning. Ed Haith, Rich Pitts, Mike Labetti, and John Barracato added three hits as FBC smacked a total of 36 hits. CarePlus was led by Jim Wiegand and Tom Winegarden,who had four hits each. Pat RIce, Bruce Harlan, and Mark Goodwin stoked three hits apiece for the losers.

Gators Dockside Brownwood doubled up Palm Ridge Dental 16-8.

The Gators squad was led by Pat Perkins, Don Melcher, and Fred Hughes with three hits each. Chipping a pair of hits for the winners were: Wayne Grunewald, John Leone, Ray Bedford, and subs Terry Yanny and Rick Duemler. Palm Ridge Dental got three hits from Jim Morton and a pair of hits each from: Paul Isenberg, Rod Severson, John Goulet, Paul Justice, Mike Jeffries, and manager Ken Scanlon.

The Joel Beason Memorial Tournament kicks off next week with a pair of games to determine the final four.
