To the Editor:
Has anyone else noticed that the Glenview Pond is looking pretty sad lately? The upper pond has maybe five percent of open water and the rest, for lack of a better word, is covered with “pond scum.” The lower pond maybe has 10 percent open water. Does anyone have pictures of the pond from about five or six years ago or more that can be shown to Janet Tutt and Property Management? They need to see what I am talking about.
Ten years ago when we moved here, four people who worked for a group called One Source, took excellent care of all the pond areas along with the multi-modal path to the golf facility and the grounds all around the Glenview facility. Who ever is taking care of the area is just doing a lick and a promise. The weeds that have grown into the water are terrible. Never there before. At the rate they are growing into the pond it should be half gone in about four years.
Artists of all types, watercolor, colored pencil, oils, acrylic paints and more were there painting. Photographers taking pictures. Nobody seems to be there anymore. Grandparents use to take the little ones fishing. You can’t even drop a line into that water.
If you agree, please let them know directly.
