An uncooperative witness in a Spanish Springs Town Square beating death could be charged after refusing to give a deposition.
Facing charges in the case are 20-year-old Brice Hall of Weirsdale and 19-year-old Nicholas Metcalfe of Belleview. Both remain free on bond.

An assistant state attorney in the case is calling for an uncooperative witness in the case to be found in contempt of court.
Corey Alvut was to take part in a deposition on behalf of the defense on Jan. 31. Although he had been served with a subpoena, Alvut did not show up.
Another deposition was arranged for July 26 at an Ocala law office. He was served with papers, but failed to show up for that deposition, too.
Court documents indicated Alvut resides in Fruitland Park.
