Man arrested after allegedly throwing food during outburst at redsauce at Lake Sumter Landing

A man was arrested after allegedly throwing food and cursing during an outburst at redsauce restaurant at Lake Sumter Landing.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies responded to the restaurant at 9:24 p.m. Thursday and arrested 50-year-old John Anthony Barba on two counts of battery and a charge of disorderly conduct.

Barba, who appeared to have been drinking, was asked to leave the restaurant, but once outside began screaming at an employee and pushed the employee in the chest, according to the arrest report. Barba had attempted to reenter the restaurant. A second redsauce employee was involved in the altercation and Barba also pushed him, the report indicated.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,500 bond.
