Wawa opening date announced

The eagerly anticipated opening of the new Wawa service station and convenience store will take place this week.

The first Wawa to open in this area is located at the intersection of U.S. 301 and County Road 466 in Oxford.

It will open for business at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.

Another Wawa is planned for the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466 in Lady Lake. That planned location has been far more controversial.

A third Wawa is planned for U.S. Hwy. 27/441 near Lowe’s in Lady Lake.
