
Richard H. Arndt, 93, Leesburg, Florida, passed away on February 23, 2018 at Brookdale in Leesburg, Florida with loving family by his side. Richard was born on February 28, 1924 in Waters, Michigan to his parents Adam Arndt and Emma (Brickman) Arndt.
Richard had worked for General Motors in Grand Blanc, Michigan as a Die Maker for Fisher Body for over 30 years. He and his late wife Martha moved to Leesburg in 1981 from Swartz Creek, Michigan. He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Richard was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church of Leesburg, Florida where he took great pride helping at the church in many different ways to help keep it beautiful.
He is survived by his sons: David (Pam) Arndt of Flushing, MI, Ted Arndt of West Jefferson, N.C. and Herb (Janet) Arndt of Ocala, FL; a daughter: Emma (Myron) Simmons of Mount Airy, N.C.; two brothers: Kenneth Arndt of Michigan and Ernest Arndt of Colorado; three sisters: Dorothea Moll of California, Doris Pushman of Michigan and Hilda Goerke of Michigan; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Leesburg, Florida with Pastor David Rosenau officiating. A Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 9 a.m. till the hour of service. The Burial will take place following the Funeral Service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida.
