More than 2,000 pounds of old, expired medication was collected Saturday during Operation Medicine Cabinet at Winn-Dixie at Lake Sumter Landing.
The total collection amounted to 2,460 pounds.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and the Villages Public Safety Department partnered in the effort.
