A man was arrested after a fight over non-functioning trailer lights on Thursday in Ocala.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence located on NE 37th St. in reference to a domestic disturbance, according to an arrest report. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who advised he became involved in a verbal dispute with 41-year-old Dennis Ray Fales of Ocala over non-functioning headlights on a trailer he borrowed from Fales. The victim stated that Fales “got an attitude” and began cussing at him, telling the victim to grab his belongings and leave the residence. When the victim went to his bedroom in the residence, Fales pushed the victim twice in the chest. Fales then forcefully punched the right side of the victim’s face and threatened, “I’m going to kill you” numerous times, according to the report.
The victim stated that Fales began choking him with his hands but his airway was not restricted. The two began battering one another and eventually fell into the bedroom window. Fales told deputies he had “enough of the victim’s attitude” during the argument at which time he punched the victim.
Fales was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail.
