A Village of Lynnhaven man was arrested after the attempted theft of a tan straw Fedora hat and a clock at Belk in The Villages.
Timothy James Moran, 52, who lives at 859 Livingston Loop, on Saturday morning entered the store at La Plaza Grande, put the merchandise in a store bag and attempted to leave the store, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. At the time Moran was taken into custody, he was found to be in possession of a pipe for smoking methamphetamine.
Moran was arrested on charges of petit theft and possession of drug equipment. He was found to be in violation of his probation.
He was being held without bond at the Lake County Jail.
Moran was arrested in 2017 at his home in the Village of Lynnhaven after leaving another man with a bloody nose.
