The Project Wide Advisory Committee this week gave preliminary approval to a $14 million budget for 2018-19.
It represents an increase of $1,937,808 over last year’s budget.
PWAC is made up of Community Development Districts 5 through 12.
“This budget, as it currently stands will have some increases for our residents,” said PWAC Chairman Peter Moeller.
Hanging over PWAC’s head is the $1.7 million rock revetment project aimed at shoring up the embankment at the Morse Boulevard bridge.
PWAC formally abandoned a plan to seek a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant to help pay for the bridge project. Assistant District Manager Richard Baier had researched the issue and outlined his concerns in a memo.
In addition, PWAC will hold a budget workshop July 9 to further review the Sumter Landing Amenities Division Fund and provide budget updates for the Project Wide Fund.
