A man was arrested earlier this week after a cell phone video showed him pushing a pregnant woman during a violent altercation outside her Marion County home.
Vincent Bryson, 36, was taken into custody after a Marion County woman called them to her Cedar Road home Monday. The woman told Marion County Sheriff’s deputies that she saw a black pickup truck outside her home last Friday and she went outside because she thought it was the man who takes care of her yard. But when she exited her house, Bryson confronted her, a sheriff’s office report states.
The woman said she told Bryson “it was not a good time” because her roommate had left and she was afraid to be alone with him. She said Bryson yelled at her and told her to move out of the way, and when she didn’t, he pushed her, almost knocking her to the ground, the report says.
A deputy watched the woman’s cell phone video, which showed the woman and Bryson talking before he is seen shoving the woman, causing her to lose her balance. She then ran toward the front door and attempted to get into her residence. The report states that Bryson is “clearly identifiable” in the cell phone video, and that the deputy could hear a child yell “call the police” and then scream.
The woman said the person who drove Bryson to her home yelled at him to get back in the vehicle, which he did, and they left.
The next day, the woman said, Bryson showed up at her workplace and caused a disturbance. She said she didn’t call for help because she hoped he would leave her alone. But she said he continued to follow her around and stand in front of her home.
The woman, who is 16 weeks pregnant, told deputies that she considers Bryson to be violent and she is afraid of him. She said that he knows she’s pregnant.
Bryson told deputies he went to the woman’s home and saw her ex-boyfriend there. He said he yelled at the other man to leave the residence but he refused. And he said the woman confronted him, though he denied pushing her. But he did acknowledge knowing she is pregnant.
Bryson was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with aggravated battery while knowing the victim was pregnant. He was held on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom July 17 at 9 a.m.
