Unvaccinated cat under quarantine after biting owner in Spring Arbor Village

An unvaccinated cat has been placed under at-home quarantine after biting its owner in Spring Arbor Village.

A woman who lives on Spring Arbor Lane reported that her gray Tiger cat named Lily bit her on June 4, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The woman said she was playing with Lily when she “accidentally” surprised the cat and the cat turned around and bit her on the left hand. The owner said the cat can be “a little sensitive.” The report noted that Lily has a deformed right front leg.

Lady Lake’s animal control officer discovered that Lily’s rabies vaccine had expired.

The owner was instructed to get the cat vaccinated, once the quarantine is lifted. The health department was notified of the incident.
