Scott Hubbard

A well-known realtor in The Villages was arrested Thursday night on a drunk driving charge after he was spotted driving without headlights.

Scott William Hubbard, 47, who lives on Foxgrove Avenue near Nancy Lopez Legacy Country Club, was driving a white Ford F-150 with the distinctive license plate, SEL NTV, at 8:51 p.m. when he was pulled over at Main Street and College Avenue in Leesburg.

The ERA Grizzard Real Estate agent had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and it smelled as if he had been drinking, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. His coordination appeared to be impaired as he attempted to retrieve his driver’s license.

During field sobriety exercises, Hubbard made an incomplete turn and lost his balance. He told the police officer he no longer wanted to take part in the exercises and refused to attempt a one-legged stand.

As his truck was being prepared to be towed from the scene, an open 12-ounce bottle of Corona was discovered in it.

Hubbard refused to provide a breath sample.

He was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and ticketed for having an open container in his vehicle.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released at 6:42 a.m. Friday after posting $500 bond.
