A 54-year-old man arrested last month on charges of stalking and extortion has been unable to be located by deputies trying to serve papers to him.
Jay Sanchez had been arrested July 19 after allegedly terrorizing a Villages of Parkwood woman with whom he had been involved romantically and professionally. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center, but was released the following day after posting $5,000 bond.
The woman has been granted a temporary injunction for protection against domestic violence. A hearing had been set for Friday before Judge Michelle Morley in Sumter County Court. The woman was hoping to make the injunction permanent.
Court records indicate deputies had been unsuccessful in locating Sanchez to serve him papers.
Another hearing before Judge Morley has been set for Aug. 14.
