Weirsdale woman arrested on prostitution charge after sting at local hotel

Courtney Lynn Rain Folds

A 24-year-old Weirsdale woman was arrested on prostitution and drug charges in a sting at a hotel in Leesburg.

Leesburg police officers found a local woman going by the name of “Mia” on skipthegames.com, a site commonly used by prostitutes, according to an arrest report.

An officer called the woman, later identified as Courtney Lynn Rain Folds, and agreed to pay $200 for “a full hour of full service.” This past Thursday, Folds met the undercover officer in the pool area of the hotel. The name of the hotel was redacted from the arrest report. Folds asked if the officer smoked marijuana and volunteered there was marijuana in the vehicle that had dropped her off at the hotel. The pair went to a designated room, where Folds was met by additional police officers.

A K-9 alerted on the vehicle in which Folds had arrived. A bag containing 1.7 grams of marijuana and two “blunts” was discovered. An empty syringe and digital scale were found in Folds’ purse.

She was arrested on charges of prostitution, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,500 bond.

Last year, Folds served nine months in the Florida Department of Corrections on charges, including grand theft of a motor vehicle, stemming from a Marion County arrest.
