Some Crepe Myrtles are to come down to end a messy situation at a swimming pool in The Villages.
Villager Curtis Morman complained Wednesday morning to the Amenity Authority Committee about the conditions at the pool in the Village of Springdale.
He said leaves and other vegetation from the Crepe Myrtles continually fall onto and into the pool. He said the trees are 20 feet tall.

“They need to be removed or trimmed back immensely,” Morman said.
AAC member Don Deakin said the pool contractor has been diligent in keeping the pool clean, but the trees are apparently more than the contractor can keep up with.
AAC Chairman Carl Bell encouraged Deakin to make a motion for the removal of the trees. Deakin made the motion and it was unanimously approved.
