The Christmas visitors are coming to The Villages. They include Santa, Scrooge and Rudolph along with Billie, Bowzer and Rocky.

Clark Barrios and Mary Jo Vitale will sing Christmas carols at Savannah Center.

For those living south of the North Pole that’s Billie Thatcher, Jon “Bowzer” Bauman and Rocky and the Rollers.

It’s that time of the year when holiday entertainment takes center stage in The Villages. And the biggest gathering will be at the town squares for the traditional tree-lighting festivals with Billie Thatcher.

“I love doing it,” Thatcher said. “I’m busy but it’s something special for everybody here.”

Thatcher will host the Spanish Springs Town Square tree lighting on Nov. 28, followed by Lake Sumter Landing Market Square on Nov. 30 (4 to 9 p.m.). She won’t be able to attend the Brownwood Paddock Square lighting on Dec. 4, from 4 to 9 p.m., however, because she is performing in “NunCrackers: The Christmas Musical” on Dec. 4-6 in Savannah Center.

Another town square celebration is the Menorah Lighting Ceremony in Lake Sumter Landing on Dec. 2 at 3 p.m.

Bowzer, the famed “Mr. Bass Man” of Sha Na, makes his annual visit on Dec. 9 to Savannah Center, appearing with Rocky and the Rollers at 5 and 8 p.m. The show is called “Bowzer’s Holiday Party.”
