MaryEsther Carman, of Lake Port Square in Leesburg, FL, died on Friday, December 14. She was born in Bloomfield, New Jersey on May 7, 1933.

MaryEsther spent her early years in rural Saskatchewan, Canada where her father was a minister. Then her family moved to Ohio, and she attended Kent State University.

While raising her three children, she and her family lived in the Philippines where her first husband worked for the Peace Corps. After that she started a career as an educator in Montgomery County, Maryland. She and her second husband, Richard Carman, retired to Delaware, and after Richard’s death she moved to Ocala, and then came to Lake Port in 2012.

Mrs. Carman is survived by her brother and his wife, Arthur and Lyn Arvay of Wooster, Ohio; her three children, Marybeth, Scott, and Douglas McDonald; and, two grandchildren Martin and Kayla McDonald.
