Operational change coming Monday to Del Mar Gate at Spanish Springs

An operational change is coming Monday to the Del Mar Gate at Spanish Springs.

Beginning Monday and continuing through Jan. 26, the gate will be operated in “automatic open mode.” The gate attendant will be stationed in the doorway to provide customer service and greet users. As users approach the gate, the arm will automatically open WITHOUT the use of a gate access card or push of the button. The gate attendant will have the discretion to lock the gate in the “up” position during heavy traffic, as necessary.

Lady Lake police are working with Community Watch to ensure a smooth transition during operational changes at the Del Mar Gate.

The Lady Lake Police Department has set up its lighted public information board to alert motorists to the change coming to the Del Mar Gate.

The Amenity Authority Committee, which oversees the Del Mar Gate, has struggled for years with finding ways for the gate to operate more efficiently.
