Lady Lake woman arrested on DUI charge during investigation of hit-and-run accident

Courtney Ducat

A Lady Lake woman was arrested on a drunk driving charge during the investigation of a hit-and-run accident.

Courtney Lynn Ducat, 26, on Monday afternoon had been driving a white Ford station wagon that matched the description of a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run crash, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The officer who pulled over Ducat’s vehicle immediately noticed that her speech was slurred, her eyes were bloodshot and her breath smelled of alcohol.

She stumbled during field sobriety exercises, lost her balance and finally concluded, “I just can’t.” On the way to the Lady Lake Police Department for a breath test, Ducat vomited several times in the back seat of the patrol car. She provided breath samples that registered .229 and .231 blood alcohol content.

She was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000.

Ducat had been arrested in 2017 after a dispute with the Department of Children and Families over her children.
