A Lady Lake woman will have to answer in court after allegedly stuffing a stolen purse with merchandise at Target at Rolling Acres Plaza.

Jennifer Victoria Duff, 30, of 40156 Oakridge Drive, entered the store at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and selected a yellow purse and put four pairs of stolen earrings into it, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She then went to the clothing department, where she selected six women’s tops and a baby onesie and concealed them in the purse. While walking in the store, Duff grabbed a cold Starbucks beverage and began drinking it. She also took merchandise from the cosmetics department.

She left the store and was stopped by a loss prevention officer. The total value of the merchandise taken was $244.91.

Duff was issued a notice to appear Jan. 30 in Lake County Court on a charge of petit theft. She has been banned from Target.
