Villages Honor Flight is hosting a bowling fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Leesburg.

The event, which begins with practice at 1:45 p.m., will be held at the AMF Bowling Center, located at 2813 W. Main Street, in Leesburg. The cost is $20 per person, which includes three games and shoe rental. To sign up, contact Terry Zablonski at (410) 733-5158 or via email at [email protected].

Villages Honor Flight serves veterans in Sumter, Lake, Marion, Citrus and Hernando counties and is entirely supported by donations. The organization formed in July 2011 and since that time, 1,286 veterans have either flown to Washington, D.C. to see the monuments that are dedicated to them in person or have enjoyed a virtual experience of the trip here in The Villages.

Villages Honor Flight’s next mission is set for April 17. The group also is planning trips to our nation’s capital in June, August and September. Two flightless, virtual events will take place in June and November.
