Man pushing shopping cart with 40-inch TV arrested at Target in The Villages

A man pushing a shopping cart with a 40-inch TV in it was arrested at Target at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.

James Richardson, 31, of Weirsdale, entered the store shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday and went to the electronics department, where he loaded a TLC television into his shopping cart, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He headed for the store’s front doors without paying for the TV, which is valued at $213.99. He was stopped by store personnel.

Richardson was arrested on a charge of retail theft and booked at the Lake County Jail on $1,000 bond.

He previously was convicted on a charge of retail theft in 2011.
