20-year-old resident of Village of Fenney arrested during motorcycle ride

Jacob Hill

A 20-year-old resident of the Village of Fenney was arrested after a motorcycle ride during which he had marijuana tucked inside a Louis Vuitton backpack.

Jacob Colin Hill, who lives at 5546 Purslane Place, at 8:30 p.m. Saturday was riding a black Suzuki GSXR on East State Road 44 and County Road 44A near Lake Deaton, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The motorcycle’s rear license plate was not attached properly and Hill was not wearing eye protection.

Hill’s driver’s license did not include a motorcycle endorsement, but he said he had planned on attending a class soon.

The deputy asked to search Hill’s backpack. Hill began pulling items out of the backpack, including a sunglasses case which was found to contain marijuana.

Hill was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and issued a citation for riding a motorcycle without a required endorsement.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,000 bond.
