Villagers’ daughter arrested after spotted fleeing from notorious drug house

Michelle Rhoades

A Villages couple’s daughter was arrested after she was spotted fleeing from a notorious drug house.

The father of 42-year-old Monica Michelle Rhoades reported to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office that his daughter was missing. Rhoades told her father she was headed to drop off a friend, but never returned.

Rhoades was spotted at the well-known drug house in Oxford, but when a deputy approached her, she fled on foot. She grabbed a set of keys off a golf cart and ran for the woods. She was unable to escape and was detained by deputies.

A one-inch straw with a white residue was found in Rhoades’ pocket. Rhoades, who lists an address on Figueroa Street in the Village of Santiago, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug equipment. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.

Rhoades was arrested earlier this year at a homeless camp in Fruitland Park. Last year, Rhoades was arrested after she failed to show up in court to answer to drug charges.
