Lisa Degrego

A longtime nail technician in The Villages has been sentenced after she was arrested last year with Xanax in her purse.

Lisa Degrego, 48, of Leesburg, had been arrested on the night of Nov. 17 after a traffic stop for an expired tag at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at County Road 25, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The officer found that Degrego, at the time a long-time employee at Salon Jaylee at Rolling Acres Plaza, was driving on a license that had been suspended for an unpaid traffic fine. A search of her purse turned up Xanax.

Two passengers, 25-year-old Joshua Richardson and 24-year-old Jessica Rainwater, of Leesburg, were in possession of 28.6 grams of methamphetamine, 2.2 grams of marijuana, .5 grams of heroin, three Buprenorphine Hydrochloride and approximately 40 Xanax pills. Rainwater, a convicted felon, also was found to be in possession of a loaded revolver.

Last week in Lake County Court, Degrego was sentenced to time served. Records show she spent one day in the Lake County Jail. She also was assessed $573 in court costs.
