A home that has Villagers in an uproar will be the subject of a deed compliance case next week at the District Office at Brownwood.
Earlier this month, neighbors packed a special meeting of the Community Development District 11 Board of Supervisors to vent their frustrations about the over-the-top displays, numerous flags and invasive lights at the home of Dennis McGrath-Wagner on Webster Way in the Village of Pine Ridge. Supervisor Peter Russell said he believes that McGrath-Wagner has been showing “obvious direct defiance” and deliberately trying to make his neighbors miserable.
The McGrath-Wagner home is on the docket for a hearing at 2 p.m. Monday before Special Master Terry Neal, a retired Lake County judge. The Village of Fenney resident now hears deed compliance cases on behalf of many CDDs in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.
CDD 11 recently approved a rule change aimed at tamping down invasive lights with hopes of reining in problem properties like the McGrath-Wagner home.
Villager Sheila Davis outlined the annoying problems at the home in a recent opinion piece.

Meanwhile, McGrath-Wagner has been on a media campaign. His plight was aired on an Orlando television newscast and his flag displays were featured in the July 4 edition of The Villages Daily Sun.
