Frantic woman begs police to ‘please hurry’ when screaming man shows up at Villages of Parkwood

Robert Joseph Bluste

A frantic woman begged police to “please hurry” when a screaming man showed up early Thursday morning at the Villages of Parkwood.

Wildwood police responded to a 911 call at 4:30 a.m. to the family community located off County Road 101 in The Villages. A dispatcher informed the responding officer that the doors of the home were locked and those inside were “frantically asking for law enforcement to please hurry.” The dispatcher also said the screaming man could be heard in the background of the 911 call.

The man, later identified as 36-year-old Robert Joseph Bluste, disappeared into the darkness when he spotted the squad car. The officer found Bluste two doors down from the home from which the 911 call had been placed.

Bluste, who lives at 12426 52nd Loop in the Villages of Parkwood, was recently released from the LifeStream Mental Health Receiving Facility.

Bluste was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.

The woman who called 911 signed an intent to prosecute.
