A man was arrested at the Villages of Parkwood after allegedly slapping his girlfriend during a dispute.
Wildwood police were called Tuesday afternoon to a home in the 4800 block of NE 122nd Avenue where they took 24-year-old Anthony Truesdell into custody on a charge of battery.
His girlfriend of five years told police that Truesdell “woke up in a bad mood” and they started arguing about their dogs, according to an arrest report.
He asked why she was “picking on” him. She asked him to leave the room, but he responded by slapping her, the report said.
When police arrived, her face was swollen and red.
Truesdell said he did not remember slapping her.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $500 bond.
