An apparently intoxicated Village of La Zamora resident reported the theft of her vehicle by her “new” boyfriend.
The 57-year-old woman called law enforcement Tuesday night and alleged that her boyfriend of a few weeks pushed her and took the keys to her white Lexus LS, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She said he left in the car without her permission.
When police arrived to interview the car’s owner, she appeared to be intoxicated.
A police officer went to Leesburg and spotted the Lexus at the boyfriend’s home. He told police he did not want the car in his driveway and turned over the keys.
Since the owner was intoxicated, one of her friends agreed to go with police and retrieve the vehicle.
There were no arrests.
