A Villages fast-food worker was questioned by law enforcement after a Kentucky Fried Chicken manager received a threatening text message.
Lady Lake police were called shortly before 10 p.m. May 23 to the KFC restaurant at 1005 Bichara Blvd., where the manager reported a former employee was causing a disturbance. The manager said she wanted the 23-year-old Burger King worker trespassed from the restaurant.
The manager called police 39 minutes later to report that she had received a text that read, “You can’t trespass me. I’m going to wait for you to leave KFC and follow you home and slice that pretty ugly ass face.”
Police checked Burger King, but learned the former KFC employee had gone home for the night. The 23-year-old woman’s boyfriend, who works at KFC, called his girlfriend and confronted her about the text message. He advised her to call the police.
When she spoke with a police officer, the woman denied sending the text message and pointed out that the number used to send it was not her phone number.
