Alexis Gamble

A woman was arrested at Wawa after allegedly attacking a man with her cowgirl boot.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies responded at about 6 p.m. Sunday to the convenience store on U.S. 301, where 24-year-old Alexis Gamble, of Fruitland Park, described an earlier altercation with the man. They had been at a residence where the man had asked Gamble to leave, according to the arrest report.

He went into a bedroom, where he sat on the edge of his bed and ate pizza. She admitted she entered the bedroom and threw pillows at him. She claimed the man said he was going to break items on her vehicle. She locked herself in a room, called 911 and agreed to meet law enforcement at Wawa.

The man told deputies that Gamble threw pizza, root beer and pillows at him. She allegedly took one of her cowboy boots and struck him with its heel.

Gamble was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $50 bond.
