A Community Development 6 supervisor said neighbors upset over a “monstrous” garage in the Village of Tall Trees have been making a “big deal about nothing.”
CDD 6 Supervisor Andrew Curtis made the comment at Friday’s monthly board of supervisors meeting.
Curtis, a Property Owners Association member who won election last year to the CDD 6 board, spoke out on the controversial garage, which has been dramatically enlarged at 2370 Five Forks Trail.
Curtis said he had driven by the garage to check it out. He said he did not understand why neighbors have been making such a fuss.
One hundred and seventy five residents signed a petition opposing the project at the home owned by Martin Eisner, who owns two other homes in The Villages.
The garage enlargement project has been bitterly opposed by neighbor Karen Phillips, who purchased her Village of Tall Trees home Feb. 4 and moved in March 1. She and other neighbors spoke out against the garage project last month before the Architectural Review Committee.
