Leesburg Police officers were on the scene of a fatal crash on U.S. Hwy. 27 in the area of Singletary Park shortly after noon on Thursday.
Traffic was being diverted off the highway onto County Road 25A to avoid the crash scene. The incident is being investigated by the police department’s traffic homicide team.
The southbound lanes of U.S. Hwy. 27 are expected to remain closed for several hours.
