A woman who first attempted to return a vacuum cleaner she didn’t pay for and then stole a television set from the Summerfield Wal-Mart is being sought.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to the store, located at 17961 S U.S. Hwy. 27/441, on Tuesday and when he arrived, a loss prevention officer said a woman had entered the business and attempted to return a vacuum cleaner she had taken off a shelve. The woman had received a return-item sticker for the vacuum, which she had never purchased in the first place.
After her failed attempt to return the vacuum, the woman put it back on a shelf in the back of the store and then took a black 32-inch TCL Roku television from the electronics department. She took the return-item sticker from the vacuum, placed it on the TV and then went to the front of the store, the report says.
The woman then walked past the cash registers and showed the door attendant the return-item sticker on the TV box before leaving, the report says.
