Firefighters from three departments battle roaring Leesburg mobile home fire

Crews from three fire departments battled a blaze early Tuesday morning that destroyed a mobile home in Leesburg.

Crews from Leesburg Fire Rescue, Lake County Fire Rescue and the Fruitland Park Fire Department battled a mobile home fire in Leesburg early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from Leesburg Engine 62, Engine 61 and Engine 64, along with a battalion chief, battled the 3 a.m. blaze. They were assisted by crews from Lake County Fire Rescue and the Fruitland Park Fire Department, a report states.

Firefighters aboard Engine 62 were the first to arrive on-scene. They found the mobile home about 75 percent consumed by flames, so the crew quickly stretched a hose line and knocked down the fire.

The remaining 25 percent of the home was saved but suffered smoke, heat and water damage. Firefighters were on-scene until about 5:30 a.m., the report says.
