Time is running out to apply for a seat on the Community Development District 4 Board of Supervisors.
The deadline to apply for the seat is Friday, July 26.
The vacancy has been created by the decision of Supervisor Chuck Kazlo to step down after 12 years of service.
CDD 4 supervisors have had their hands full since sinkholes in February 2018 rocked a Village of Calumet Grove neighborhood, leaving two homes uninhabitable. Last year, CDD 4 made the difficult decision to raise by 20 percent the maintenance assessment paid by residents in order to pay for infrastructure damaged by the sinkholes. That work began recently after an emergency declaration earlier this year.
Any interested applicants for the CDD 4 vacancy must be a qualified elector which is defined by Florida Statute 190 as “any person at least 18 years of age who is a citizen of the United States, a legal resident of Florida and of the district, and who registers to vote with the Supervisor of Elections in the county in which the district land is located.”
To obtain additional information or request an application, you may contact Jennifer McQueary, District Clerk at (352) 751-3939. CDD 4 supervisors will interview applicants during a meeting to be held at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Savannah Center.
